SUMMARY:Commissioning Electrical Power Systems
DESCRIPTION:This course provides foundational training for professionals with limited electrical experience. Through a combination of classroom instruction and hands-on exercises\, students learn to commission Standard Power Systems\, Emergency Power Systems\, and Lighting Control Systems. The course emphasizes completion of System Verification Checklists (SVCs) and Functional Performance Tests (FPTs) while building knowledge of electrical fundamentals\, power equipment\, coordination studies\, and applicable industry codes. \nStudents gain practical experience with topics such as NFPA 70 (NEC)\, NFPA 99\, overcurrent protection\, selective coordination\, motors\, VFDs\, NETA testing\, panelboards\, switchgear\, and lighting control devices. The course concludes with a supervised commissioning exercise of a commercial building’s power\, emergency power\, and lighting systems\, reinforcing real-world application of skills and best practices.
